Summary

Evie Porter has everything a nice, Southern girl could want: a perfect, doting boyfriend, a house with a white picket fence and a garden, a fancy group of friends。 The only catch: Evie Porter doesn’t exist。

The identity comes to Evie Porter。 Once she’s given a name and location by her mysterious boss Mr。 Smith, she learns everything there is to know about the town and the people in it。 Then the target: Ryan Sumner。 The last piece of the puzzle is the job。

Evie isn’t privy to Mr。 Smith’s real identity, but she knows this job will be different。 Ryan has gotten under her skin, and she’s starting to envision a different sort of life for herself。 But Evie can’t make any mistakes--especially after what happened last time。

Because the one thing she’s worked her entire life to keep clean, the one identity she could always go back to—her real identity—just walked right into this town。 Evie Porter must stay one step ahead of her past while making sure there’s still a future in front of her。 The stakes couldn't be higher--but then, Evie has always liked a challenge。。。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Solid 4。5 (audiobook)Fun thriller and fantastic writing。 I wish there had not been as many flashbacks; it got a little confusing, especially listening to the audiobook and not wanting to go back and try to remember details。 I would say I enjoyed the first half of the book more than the second half。 The ending was good, but not really what I expected。 I wanted a deeper dive into "Mr。 Smith" and his motives and connection to the players in the book。 Solid 4。5 (audiobook)Fun thriller and fantastic writing。 I wish there had not been as many flashbacks; it got a little confusing, especially listening to the audiobook and not wanting to go back and try to remember details。 I would say I enjoyed the first half of the book more than the second half。 The ending was good, but not really what I expected。 I wanted a deeper dive into "Mr。 Smith" and his motives and connection to the players in the book。 。。。more

I read this book with PigeonHole book club where a ‘stave’ is released every day for twelve days。 Immediately I was intrigued and gripped by the story and wanted to read on。 I think if I had had the whole book I would have read it in a couple of sittings!Evie and Ryan are a new couple who on the surface seem to have a perfect relationship。 However, there’s a lot more to both of their characters than you think。 Evie is very cagey about her past, what’s she hiding? Does Ryan know something is up?The author does a good job of keeping you hooked, there are so many twists and turns in the story I sometimes found it a little confusing to follow。 The characters are well developed and I grew to like Eve, even though the author manipulates your feelings towards her。 At times I felt the book dragged a little, but it’s generally well paced with chapters that aren’t too long。 This book is certainly a page turner and will keep you gripped! I would definitely recommend it and will be keeping an eye out for more from this author。 Thanks to PigeonHole for providing me with a copy of the book。 3。5 stars rounded to 4。 。。。more

A great 4。5 stars! I raced through this as I needed to know what was happening after each and every mini cliffhanger。 Great main character, interesting flashbacks and enjoyable twists and turns。 I did guess some of the big reveals but I loved being kept on my toes in general and wanted to see how everything played out for Lucca。 I’m looking forward to reading more from this author and will definitely be recommending this book to friends and family。 Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC。

The blurb for this book hinted at so many promises of where this book might be headed, reading it certainly didn't disappoint in any way whatsoever! As I turned the pages and learned more and more about Amy, her past and all those people she had been before it sparked so many ideas about where this might be headed and luckily I was lead right up the garden path many times as the misdirection was incredibly well written and plotted。The story kept me turning the pages as I raced to find out what wa The blurb for this book hinted at so many promises of where this book might be headed, reading it certainly didn't disappoint in any way whatsoever! As I turned the pages and learned more and more about Amy, her past and all those people she had been before it sparked so many ideas about where this might be headed and luckily I was lead right up the garden path many times as the misdirection was incredibly well written and plotted。The story kept me turning the pages as I raced to find out what was happening and why, what had happened to make things come to a head and who were these mysterious figures in Amy's life。The ending had everything I hoped for, many surprises and a nice bow in which the author had tied up all the loose ends!I know this is the authors first foray into adult fiction, I sincerely hope it will not be her last, this was a really good, interesting and fun read。 。。。more

I loved this book! Evie is a super smart con artist working for an anonymous boss。 We are treated to her past jobs while flipping to her current one in which she is caught in a web of deceit。 Can she trust her boss? Is he trying to betray her? Plus, she’s falling for her current mark even though she knows how dangerous it is for her to fall in love with a mark。I loved how I never knew how these jobs were going to be pulled off。 I loved every character build and the plot was so intricate!
